This was the first time I’d been to Dapper Restaurant. I knew we were going to be in for a We Want Plates situation the moment our menus showed up and they were clipboards.

Cut to (I don’t remember how many) minutes later and my food was looking pretty and yummy in a frying pan atop a wooden board.

I ordered a steak – either sirloin or rump – with mashed potatoes and a side of veggies. Full disclosure: I was drinking that evening so I may have been slightly loopy. But it was definitely one of those (those with superior palates or more discerning eye, please let me know what I ate in the comments lol)

My company ordered the T-bone steak with chips and Grilled chicken with chips.

My steak was great for the most part. It did have a large strip of fat which wasn’t rendered properly but I just cut it off to the side. That aside, it was cooked to the temperature I asked for (mid-rare). It was yummy.

I’m told the T-bone and grilled chicken were delicious too.

Honestly, I had a really good time and I like the restaurant. I liked the decor very much (unfortunately I didn’t get pictures of the in detail). You immediately enter into the dining area but there’s a bar tucked away at a corner. Maybe it’s just because I like a drink but I think it was a nice detail.

I also loved the service. The waitresses were very friendly and helpful and created a really good atmosphere.

All in all, it was a swell time and I’d love to eat there again.

My rating: ★★★★✩ (rounded up from 3.8)
